After a two-month break, the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship returns to action this weekend [11–13 July] for Round 3 at Donington Park, UK. It has been a challenging yet positive start to the season for 28-year-old Tayla Relph, who currently sits tied for 6th place in the World Championship standings after two rounds.
Relph’s best race result this year came in the opening race at TT Circuit Assen, where she crossed the line in 6th. In the remaining three races, she has consistently finished inside the Top 10—no small feat in what is proving to be an incredibly competitive 2025 field.
“We’ve been working incredibly hard this season, but the pace across the grid has jumped significantly—it feels like a proper, competitive World Championship now, where 0.3 of a second can drastically change your results,” Relph said. “It’s great for the championship as a whole to see just how far the field has grown since its inaugural year. It just means we have to work harder—which is exactly what we’ve been doing.”
With a long gap between rounds, the Full Throttle Racing Team used the time wisely, completing five days of testing across Donington Park and Balaton Park Circuit. However, an early crash at Donington’s infamous Craner Curves brought an unexpected setback.
“For the most part, testing was positive and we made some good steps. However, we had a pretty gnarly crash on the first test day at Donington Park—177km/h through Craner Curves—resulting in two fractured fingers on my right hand [a fracture of the base of the second phalanx of the index finger with ligament injury to the radial and volar plates, and a partial fracture with osteoligamentous avulsion at the base of the second phalanx of the third finger], as well as a dynamic scapholunate ligament injury in my right wrist,” Relph explained.

The injuries, all on her right (braking) hand, presented some challenges during the remaining days on track—but Relph pushed through and the team continued their testing program.
“We’ve just been following the osteopath’s orders and doing what we can to take pressure off my fingers and wrist. This past week, we’ve seen a little bit of improvement in general movement. The WorldSBK Clinica Mobile team is amazing, and I know they’ll provide me with the best medical treatment throughout the round,” she said.
With a stacked field and high expectations, Relph is more determined than ever to make Round 3 her strongest showing of the 2025 season.
